Robert (Bahman) Golshan passed away on August 25, 2018.  He was born in Tehran, Iran but spent the majority of his life raising his family in United States.  Throughout his life, he epitomized the motto of "do things right or don't do it at all" and instilled the same values in his family.  Before his arrival in the United States, he worked as a civil engineer designing public infrastructure, but immigrated to America with his young family, as a result of the Iranian Revolution.  Starting modestly in his adopted country, he worked a variety of jobs, not related to his profession, including as a gas station attendant and a bus boy, to provide for his family and master the English language, after which time, he was able to fully utilize his educational background.  Ultimately, he rose through the ranks in both the private and public sectors to attain leadership positions where he supervised large numbers of employees and substantial budgets.

Approximately fifteen years ago, while pursuing his passion of cycling, a vehicle struck Robert. which required him to be medevac'd to the intensive care unit.  A few years later, the initial signs of neurological problems, likely resulting from the cycling accident, appeared.  Since that time, he faced a variety of medical diagnoses, including motor-neuron disease, psychological illnesses and permanent nerve damage, which contributed to his early retirement from disability, family and financial struggles, among other challenges.  In his final years, he shared with his family members how his condition posed a constant burden to his life.  Notwithstanding all that he faced, he continued to enjoy the loving support of his friends and family until his death.  To honor Robert, in lieu of flowers and a memorial service, the family would like those interested to contribute to the American Neurological Association, whose mission is to study neurological diseases.  Robert would not have wanted it any other way.
