Robert Wheatley - Cello Fund
Donation protected
I'm Rob Wheatley, I'm a cellist from Manchester, UK studying in Essen, Germany. My field of study is Music, specifically the Cello.
Music is my passion. In my opinion, it is one of the most important things in our lives. Music can bring so much joy to so many people. In an often very hard and uncomfortable world, music can remind us of the beautiful things in life, it can inspire us, it can move us to tears, make us reach levels of emotion we never even thought we could reach. Imagine how dry and bare a world without music would be.
As a musician, it is my purpose to spread the joy of music, through performances and through teaching.
At the moment I am borrowing a beautiful cello from a maker in Gummersbach, Germany. I've had it for about half a year now and the progress I have made in this short time is immense, not only technically and musically, but also emotionally and personally. People continue to comment on the beautiful sound of the instrument and how it keeps on developing each time they hear it.
I will have to return the cello in January 2018, unless I manage to raise the money I need to buy it.
Any donation means you are not only helping me, but also doing a great thing in funding the arts, which are sadly disappearing from many societies.
I would also like to offer in return an opportunity for donators to come to a concert or performance, of mine or a free cello lesson for anyone interested :)
Thank you for reading my story,
I truly believe that Music can and will save the world.
