Robert Nunes "Bob" Mantle Cell Lymphoma Aid

Some may already know what took place this weekend. For those that don't, please take a moment.
Robert Nunes, "Bob", was sitting at home this past weekend when he missed a call from the doctor. When I opened the door to walk towards the sofa, he asked, "what did the doctor say?" Overwhelmed by what I had to say to him, I broke down to let him know that what the doctors thought to be colon cancer back in October of 2020 is Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
Bob will need a surgical biopsy and start chemotherapy soon.
This news has changed everything as I sit here "on a catch 22" stance, wishing that the only thing weighing heavy on his mind was the financial burden that the pandemic has had on his business.
Robert is the owner of Hillside Recorders in Hayward, CA. He is an amazing bass player and music engineer. He has done his best to stay above water this past year. With Mantle Cell Lymphoma and chemotherapy as his treatment, it has impelled me to reach out to you and ask for help.

Determination
The last four months have been bittersweet and an emotional rollercoaster.
As life would have it, in November of 2020, we took a trip to Eureka, California. To a family, he was searching to find. You see, Bob's adoptive loving parents, Virginia and Manuel Nunes have since passed, and in October of 2020, we received a returned call from Jerry and Linda Gess. Jerry is Bob's biological father! Bob's birth mother, Harla, passed tragically. He has three brothers and two brothers on his mother's side that he has not met. It turns out that not only is Bob the dad of two young adult children, but now he is the older brother of five younger brothers and has a new mom. What timing everyone! They plan to go fishing in June 2021.
Great sense of humor
Funny Bob. The animated stories he has shared on how they coined him the Wildest Bass Player are comical. It started in high school when he went up on stage playing his bass, wearing his mom's leopard blouse. His friends only used stage names to refer to each other. Bob was Bubba, and his guitar player was, Brillo, for his frizzy hair.
His friends from bands like EHB of which "Bubba" is the Bass player too, Richard Bean of Malo, MOWAK, Jeff Fogerty, Monty Byrom of Zen Road Pilots, Groove Mafia, Brand New Pack, Rattle Snake Potion, Dan Ashley, Ben Smith, David Victor and the cool guys from his high school days, call him, brother!
His bond goes beyond the music and the walls of Hillside Recorders. Bob is truly a loving giving person.
I hope we can all band together to give Bob the strength that he needs while he recovers.
