It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert M. Leon on March 22, 2021. Robert began the first 25 years of his life in Phoenix, AZ with family and friends before heading to San Francisco, CA where he remained for the next 45 years.
Robert was a Board Member of the Haight Ashbury Street Fair (HASF) since 1979 and served as the Executive Director/Producer from 2007 – 2019. In June 2019, Robert was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in recognition of his commitment in Community Arts & Events.
Robert worked in Event Services for over 40 years working with City officials, SFPD, vendors, exhibitors and artisans. He was involved in activities and programs at Yerba Buena Gardens, various commercial theater production venues in San Francisco, and in Community Arts and Issues in the Haight Ashbury neighborhood.
Through his community involvement Robert had the opportunity to meet many people and build relationships that meant a lot to him.
The funds being raised are for Robert’s final arrangements and your consideration and contribution is appreciated. On behalf of Robert’s friends and family, we are grateful for your support.
