R.F. Wagner Jr. SSAT: Blankets of Hope Fundraiser

Hi! My name is Blair and I'm a teacher at Robert F. Wagner Secondary School for Arts & Technology.

My fellow staff and I are passionate about empowering our students to act with empathy and kindness - and to give back to our local community.

That's why I'm happy to announce that our students are participating in a nationwide movement called Blankets of Hope.

Blankets of Hope is a 501(c)3 non-profit helping students practice empathy and kindness by donating blankets and handwritten letters of encouragement to people experiencing homelessness.

As part of the initiative, every student will be participating in the Blankets of Hope “Kindness Workshop.”

Students will learn and practice empathy, write letters of encouragement, and even participate in a loving-kindness meditation.

Once the workshop is complete, we'll be delivering 168 Blankets of Hope to those in need in our local community!

My staff and I are launching this GoFundMe page in an effort to raise money for the blankets we'll need for all students to participate.

100% of all donations will go directly to purchasing blankets. At $7 a blanket, we'll need to raise $1,176 (one for each student to participate).
