Robert E. Valdez

Dear friends and family,  I've created this gofundme account in order raise funds for Robert and his family. He is a 37 year old Special Education Elementary School Teacher. He is a father of 4. On Wednesday, December 06, 2017, Robert was shopping at a hardware store when suddenly he started to "feel very weired". He complained of his right arm acting "crazy", a head ache and feeling badly. After hanging up the phone with his wife, he realized that he couldn't talk any more, he described hearing his own slurred speech as he was trying to communicate to a complete stranger that he needed help. He was taken to the hospital by the ambulance and was diagnosed with a TIA (Transient Ischemic Accident) and a Carotid Artery Dissection.  As he was being obeserved at the hospital he suffered a full blown stroke to the left side of his brain. He is currently in the ICU unable to communicate with his loved ones. The doctors have reported that there isn't any bleeding in the brain so far and will soon determine if he needs a craniotomy in order to allow the brain enough swelling space. His eyes are reactive to stimulation and the doctors are giving us a lot of hope. His wife is an elementary school teacher as well. She is my cousin and one of the most wonderful, caring and loving persons I know. They are a beautiful family with so many more dreams to accomplish still, together. Robert is currently studying at UTEP to obtain a master's degree in Special Education. He is so passionate about his job and loves his students very much. We are praying to God for his full and speedy recovery. As you already know, these types of life events are unpredictable and cost a lot of money. The funds will be given directly to the family for their house payments, bills, food and whatever else they need.  Thank you for your support and may God bless you and your loved ones.
