Colleen Lanssens was recently was hospitalized with a bacterial infection. She has been in ICU for 7 days with
"Necrotizing fasciitis" a group strep that is so aggressive it nearly cost her life. Untreted it can cause death in hours.
Colleen has had three surgeries to date to remove a larg amount of tissue thas was infected from her upper thigh, that is the only way to stop this horrible bacteria.Colleen will have to endure many more surgeries and a long and painful recovery and rehabilition. It may take as long as a year for her to be able to resume her active life.
This loving mother of two daughters worked at a local elementary school as a reading aid and when not working, she was pursuing her dream job in school to become a registered nurse.
