Robbin Yates Care Fund

Since suffering a stroke 6 years ago, mom's condition and mobility has deteriorated to the point of needing an assisted level of care.  She has been in an assisted-care/rehab facility the past 6 months where she's been receiving the appropriate level of care contingent upon approval of medicaid, which was denied, and she will not be eligible until the end of 2020.  She has since been discharged to an independent living facility where we're trying to establish in-home assistance and other services.   Unfortunately, her monthly social security/disability does not cover room and board, much less any additional expenses such as proper medical care and living assistance with the difference estimated at about $10,000/yr plus the $28,000 outstanding bill from the previous care facility.   If you know mom, you know how tirelessly and generously she gave of herself working to help others and causes about which she cared deeply, such as The National Inclusion Project and Duke Children's Hospital, or anyone else she felt was in need.   Still relatively young, she could gain a higher level of independence with the proper treatment, surgery, and rehabilitation, so it's this campaign's goal that she receives the care she needs to help herself the most and have the best quality of life.  Also, visitors are always welcome at her new home at Brookdale North Raleigh at 1200 Carlos Drive at the corner of Falls of Neuse Rd!  Many thanks!  Also, should she win the lottery (wouldn't put it from her), this will all just be paid forward, of course.
