Robbie’s Journey

Donation protected
So here goes, as some of you know our brother Robbie at just the age of 19 has been unwell for quite some time. We aren’t usually the type of people to ask for anything but it would mean the absolute world if any of you could help. Here is a brief explanation as to why.

In October 2017 Robbie started suffering seizures. He unfortunately has a very rare form of epilepsy which causes him to go into something called refractory status epilepticus, in a nut shell this means he can seizure non stop for hours putting immense strain on his vital organs and the drugs that are used to stop a seizure do not work. He has been in life threatening situations many times now, also suffering complications from these terrible seizures such as kidney failure and collapsed lungs to name a few.

There are so many different types of seizure and Robbie experiences different types on a daily basis which are currently uncontrolled, making his life very difficult.

On the 25th feb 2019 our Mum and Robbie went to see a professor at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery in London, we are completely overwhelmed with the help he has been offered, which includes a two week stay in a specialised epilepsy unit near  London where he will be taken care of by a highly specialised multi disciplinary team of healthcare professionals, he will have to have a multitude of different tests on his brain some pioneering therapy and medication adjustments which we hope will allow Robbie to lead as normal life as the rest of us, eventually.

We are a very close family and try support one another as best we can, but our Mum has been Robbie’s absolute rock through out this life changing journey. She is there 24:7 and Robbie would say himself he could not get through any of it without her.

So this is the part where we ask for your help, we are hoping to raise enough money to alleviate some of the pressure and allow our Mum to go with Robbie to London for two weeks to support him through what will be a very difficult, scary and emotional time. As you can imagine this is going to be very expensive, but as they say every little helps.

From the bottom of our hearts we will be extremely grateful for any help, we have seen our brother go through more than anyone could imagine. he never complains about what he’s been through, he always comes out fighting and most importantly with a smile.

Thankyou Kayleigh & Holly xxx
