Rob Solis Brandi Tyau Tragic Alaska Fishing Trip
Donation protected
Robert Solis and his wife Brandi Tyau were on a long-awaited family vacation charter fishing trip in Alaska when tragedy struck. The family including Sister Dani and her husband Maury Agcaoili , brother Mike Tyau and wife and their parents Vern and Delaine Tyau all were together after many years to spend special time together. Two charter boats carrying the 8 family members left Sunday, May 28th but only one boat returned. An extensive search and recovery effort was done by the Coast Guard, Alaska State Troopers and Sitka citizens including the Sitka Fire Department. Their amazing efforts resulted in finding the bodies of Brandi, Danielle (sister) and Maury (brother-in-law). However, Robert's body has still not been found.
Noah, their son, has just started college at the University of Oregon. Rob and Brandi dreamed of helping him fulfill his dreams and graduate from the University of Oregon. The mysterious accident has left their families with so many expenses as they struggle with grief. Rob has 3 more sons- Gage, Jake and Cody who seek to understand what happened.
Robert Solis was born and raised in Southern California, though considered himself a native Hawaiian. He served honourably in the Navy, where he was a deep-sea diver. He loved playing instruments and writing songs, surfing, diving, fishing and hunting. He rarely missed a Dodgers or USC game and was both a huge fan and their harshest critic at the same time. He owed his own business, The RES Group and also worked for Argus Investigations for the last 7 years however I can only tell you his job was top secret! He was blessed with four sons. Gage is a social worker in Oregon and is currently in grad school. Jake is a Chief Petty Officer in the US Coast Guard. Cody works for an engineering company and is pursuing a dual degree in psychology and English. Noah is currently enrolled at the University of Oregon earning a BS in Business. Brandi Tyau was born and raised in Honolulu Hawaii and was a true native Hawaiian. She was known as a wonderful mother and wife devoting her life to those she loved. She had the most beautiful smile and was kind to everyone. A true angel here on earth. She worked for Valley Eye Institute and was revered by her coworkers. She loved nature and fishing. She fed all the cats in the neighbourhood and was always pet-sitting. She loved baking and making craft projects like her famous bath bombs. She was the Ying to Rob's Yang. She died with her sister in the accident and leaves behind her son, parents and brother.
The family has set up this Go Fund Me to help with memorial and funeral costs, as well as carry on their dream of helping Noah to continue his studies at the University of Oregon. Please donate here if you are able. Any support is greatly appreciated. Lindie (sister) and Kim (Sister-in-law) can be reached for any other questions. If you prefer you can also send a check to Lindie Brunson or Kim Nolan at PO Box 20054, Kalamazoo MI 49019 or contact them to get Bank of America direct deposit info. A separate fund has been established for all donations. Memorial services will be announced soon.
