Rob Evans Scholarships: A Lasting Tribute
Donation protected
Hello, I am Tony Wrisinger of Vision Sports and Sideliner Sports. I am creating a scholarship program in memory of our amazing play by play broadcaster Rob Evans. He was very proud to be the voice of Blue Springs Wildcats and Blue Springs South Jaguars High School Sports on our Radio Broadcasts for ten amazing school years from 2015 until his recent passing on November 24, 2024.
Rob was an amazing play by play broadcaster who was a consummate professional when it came to doing play by play. Before his great time as the voice of the Cats and Jags, Rob made his mark doing play by play for the Montreal Expos (MLB), Tidewater/Norfolk Tide (AAA Baseball), Southwest Missouri State/Missouri State Men's and Women's Sports and High School Sports in Springfield MO.
Rob loved his connections and relationships he established with all of the coaches, parents, players and fans of the Cats and Jags, as well as the other local high schools he broadcasts in their runs for State Championships including Lee's Summit North Football, Lee's Summit North Softball, Lee's Summit West Basketball, Lee's Summit West Softball, Liberty North Football, Rockhurst Football, Blue Springs South Basketball, Blue Springs South Softball, Blue Springs South Baseball, Blue Springs Baseball, Fort Osage Football, Raymore-Peculiiar Softball, William Chrisman Basketball, Grain Valley Baseball, Grain Valley Softball, Summit Christian Baseball, Pleasant Hill Baseball, Raytown Basketball and Raytown South Basketball.
If Rob Evans was calling your game, you were getting a top notch broadcast and Rob was truly highlighting your team in a positive spotlight in a professional voice and broadcast.
Coaches, players, activities directors, parents and fans gravitated to Rob, and truly appreciated him, his talent and his kindness. On numerous occasions, Rob would always send copies of his broadcasts to them when asked.
I am putting together the Rob Evans Memorial Scholarship Program in order to keep his positive impact alive and active in his memory. Each year we will provide scholarships to Student Athletes from the schools listed above in his memory and recognition of the great service he provided to his listeners, coaches, players and the high schools he broadcasted games for.
I worked over 400 high school football, softball, basketball and baseball broadcasts with Rob, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved Rob like a brother and we talked almost every day about everything from High School Sports, Professional Sports, our families and friends, as well as his favorite TV shows (Hogans Heros) and movies like Stripes and Naked Gun. And of course I have heard thousands of quotes from him that Whitey Herzog said.
If you enjoyed Rob's work on the airwaves in Kansas CIty, Springfield or elsewhere, your donation to the Rob Evans Memorial Scholarship Program would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate $100.00 you would be a proud member of the "Rob 100" crew. What do you get as a member of the "Rob 100" crew? As Rob would chuckle, you get to "donate $100 to a great cause" and thanks for playing!
Thank you for your consideration for a contribution to the Rob Evans Memorial Scholarship. He would be so touched by your generosity and kindness. Rob made hundreds of big calls on the radio doing what he truly loved. You can make a big call for Rob and support the Rob Evans Memorial Scholarship Program.
Thank you
