So where to begin…..
Hi everyone
My name is Roary I was born on the 8th September 2022 I was sadly run over on the 6th December 2023 I have fractured my back left leg I was missing 2 days and crawled underneath a bush to get shelter and to keep myself safe I was very muddy sore/cold and dehydrated when I was found (I was brought home by a neighbour who lives at the back of me who I can’t thank enough if it wasn’t for Andrew I wouldn’t be here today)
I have currently a handful of infections going on one being on the back of my ankle and both sides of my legs I am currently having IV antibiotics and strong pain killers and I have been referred to the orthopaedics surgeons and I will need surgery to repair my fractured leg (I have now had the surgery) I have also had to have a blood transfusion as I have lost a lot of blood due to the someone running me over and didn’t stop or contact anyone to say they had hit me/something in the road so from then I went into anaemia mode.
With Christmas only being around the corner anything you could please spare will be appreciated my owners are not ones to ask for money but my owners have been left with no choice this money could save MY life/future and save my owners the heartache and finical fees.. so please help me and my owners to get me better & back home to my loving family for Christmas and for me to make a full recovery.
The excess fee amount for my insurance is £85 and a charge of £10 for the vets to make a claim to my insurance company. (Which my owners have already paid) I am insured up to 2K but my current vet bill as it stands now is 6.5K ongoing.
The vets have said my operation for the orthopaedics surgeons for my leg repair is going to cost 4K although I might still need my leg amputating as the infection isn’t getting any better but isn’t getting any worse at this stage which will cost my owners around 2K/3K if I need the amputation.
have managed to urinate twice now on my own and also managed to eat and drink also any medication and treatment on top will cost so my owners are trying to raise funds for 5K/6K Following recent events I had a rupture from my urethra and have had scans and X-rays to look at this and it shows there is no current rupture but there are signs and symptoms of me having one so it is healing/healed.
I now having a catheter put in just to be on the safe side. Since then I have currently been catheterised and I will need this in for 5-7 days due to the rupture I had previously but it all seems to be healed/healing nicely.. so the vets have put this in just for precaution just incase they’ve missed anything on my scans/X-rays the infections on my leg is a waiting process to see if it will heal on its own or if there is any dead tissue that can’t be saved or if it is to big of an infection this will not be able to be saved due to this the vet has said to give me the best sort of recovery and good life would be to amputate my leg but they are giving it 5-7 days to see if it stays to heal or not so their giving it a chance to see any improvement although the chances are very low the likely outcome is that it will need amputating as wounds like this take a lot of TIME and MULTIPLE surgeries to fix and even then after that it still might not be possible to save, so at this moment in time it is just a waiting game the surgeon said it is very unlikely that it will spread to other parts of my body (at the moment) but this is still not ruled out the only thing that’s prolonging my recovery is the infections on my leg as the fracture has been repaired. They said they don’t want to amputate yet as there is always that small chance it will heal with the correct procedures of dressing/cleaning the wounds but this is very slim. My stay for over 24 hours in the specialised hospital is £250 (that’s with all the care and medication I need) I will be in another week yet. My owners have already paid a 50% deposit upfront for my surgery which was 2K and an excess fee charge and admin fee charge of £95
My owners have to pay the remaining balance of 4K plus medication and other things on top when I am ready to come home. My owners want to be able to buy me some soft blankets and make me as comfortable as possible for when I return home. Please Help me and my owner raise funds for my recovery and we will keep you upto date with the latest news on myself lots of love from Roary & my family.
