The Club needs to fundraise approximately €20,000 to deliver the last piece of work. Throughout lockdown, you will know that we have completed our dressing rooms and gym and earlier this year we carried out a major fundraiser in aid of Pieta House. This time the fundraiser is for the benefit of the club and its members.
The lockdown will be one week old this Thursday, the 29th of October and we launch our Lockdown Road to Croker fundraiser, which involves 175km walk, cycle or run to Croke Park in 35 days. That is 5km a day (on average) and you can do this as an individual, as a couple, as a family and you can even include your dog! The target is for every person/family is to travel to Croke Park during lockdown.
This will be a great way for us all to stay connected whilst we stay apart during level 5 restrictions and keep us fit and active during the winter months whilst also hopefully raising all important funds for the club.
To make things interesting, we will be setting up a challenge on the Nike Run app for you to track your progress (with prizes for different weekly challenges). It is €20.00 for an individual/family to register on the app. We will also be inviting people to donate through our GoFund Me page for anyone else who wants to get involved at their own pace.
So please accept this challenge and invest in yourselves and your club!
