Hello everyone, the Golden State Road Warriors wheelchair basketball team is a nonprofit organization in the SF Bay Area providing individuals with a physical disability the opportunity compete in wheelchair basketball. Our team competes at the highest levels in the United States as part of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA). The team currently has 9 team members coached by Paul Jackson.
We just qualified to play in our leagues National Championship tournament April12-14 in Louisville KY. We are very excited about this oprotunity! To get to the Nationals and complete this season we are needing help to raise the necessary funds. Our funding each year mainly comes from business and individual donations, and fundraising events. Your donation will go towards players travel, hotel and tournament entree fees. Our remaining budget needing to be raised is just under $5,000.
The Road Warriors have given disabled athletes the opportunity to play competitive wheelchair basketball for over 40 year. Our success has been measured on and off the court. Along with providing athletes with the joy of competitive sports, or just learning the game and the benefits of being active. We are also actively involved in the communities of Northern California year around. We visit schools, businesses, hospitals as well as other organizations, speaking and doing interactive events. There we share our experiences, and educate the community about the positive impact adaptive sports can have for a person with a disability, and just handling challenges that may happen in anyone's life.
Your donation is completely tax deductible, and all donations go directly to the Golden State Road Warriors Foundation (Tax ID #94-2528455).
