Road to recovery for Richard

On October 14th my father went into surgery, that was supposed to change his life for the better. Instead it became a our biggest nightmare. The afternoon after his surgery, he was complaining about being in a lot of pain. The doctors said “it’s probably from the surgery”, but did a cat scan just to make sure. They ended up finding fluids were leaking into his stomach. They went in for emergency surgery and found the first surgeon had knicked his organs going in and the acids were eating at his insides. After calling in the experts, one being an expert in gunshot wound victims (they called her in due to the severity of his condition), they managed to quell the issue. But since then it’s been touch and go. They’ve had to do 7 more surgeries to maintain what they fixed.One was a tracheostomy ,  one was the feeding tube. He is and will be in ICU for 6 months to a year .  Being was the main breadwinner in our family, anything donated will help with expenses as far as my mothers travel to and from the hospital in west palm, an hour drive, and the bills so we might keep our house for at least 6 months while he’s recovering.
