Road to Recovery for Mighty

On Thursday, October 22nd, 2020, Mighty Okafor was riding his bike in the West End, Vancouver when he was hit by a car.
The accident happened right in the West End near Nelson/Nicola st. Mighty has a fractured skull, internal bleeding, fractured spine, broken ribs, and ruptured spleen for starters. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Vancouver General Hospital being monitored. He was intubated to assist him with his breathing. He is currently still there and under surveillance for his injuries and to monitor his progress.
Everyone is being hopeful he will make a full recovery but the Neuro Surgeon expects him to have some Severe Brain Trauma.
The purpose of this GoFundMe page is to assist Mighty and his partner Holly during his difficult recovery. The funds would help with the following:
- Rent
- Food
- Physio Therapy
- Medication
- Unforeseen Expenses

My name Christopher Johann Seyler. I am Mighty's coach at VRC Rugby. I've known Mighty and his partner Holy since they arrived in Canada last year. I started this GoFundMe page to assist them both so they don't need to worry about any finances and can focus on his recovery and allow Holly to be by his side.
I am beyond words for all the support in the past 24hours for Mighty. It really shows the positive impact Mighty has had on so many people's lives here in Vancouver and in Ireland. Mighty still has a long road ahead of him to fully recover. We can only hope he makes a full recovery.
He is currently talking and joking around like his usual self and is being moved soon to the Trauma Care Unit. Timeline for his recovery isn't known but I wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the support. Please keep sharing as we don't know how Mighty's condition will unfold. Thank you again.
