From Bedford Middle School Science Olympiad Team
Help us go to the National Science Olympiad Competition On May 15th & 16th, 2015!
On March 21st, Bedford Middle School’s Science Olympiad Team won the Connecticut state middle-school Science Olympiad championship. That means that we’ve advanced to the national competition in Nebraska in May.
It’s a big deal as this is the second year that the Bedford Middle School team has competed in the Science Olympiad competition on any level.
We are honored to be the only middle school representing the State of Connecticut in the National Competition. We’re working hard preparing and hope to do well at the National competition.
So, what is the Science Olympiad?
The Science Olympiad is like "an academic track meet". There are twenty three events covering topics including earth science, epidemiology, ecology, topography, chemistry, anatomy, entomology, forensics, physics, geology, environmental science, robotics and mechanical/engineering building events.
How you can help? It’s easy!
We’re looking to raise money to take a team of 21 students and 5 chaperones to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for the National Science Olympiad Tournament on May 15th and 16th, 2015.
The money raised will help pay for airfares, buses, accommodation, meals and supplies for preparing for our events.
We appreciate any donations. All proceeds will go towards helping the team get to Nationals.
