RN - single mother of three needs needs help

Anyone who knows me (Becky), Krystal, or Christina “Tina” Delatorre, knows we have spent the last two years of our lives suffering through nursing school.  We all have our own goals, dreams, and reasons for taking on the challenge of nursing school.  Christina’s reason, is always to provide the best life possible for her three beautiful daughters.  Well we did it, we finished school and earned our Associate Degree in Nursing to become Registered Nurses!!  Christina and Krystal finished a term ahead of me and both passed the state nursing boards licensing exam on the first try, just three weeks ago.

Then tragedy struck Christina, when she was T-boned in a terrible car accident on September 15th. Christina suffered a traumatic brain injury and swelling of her spinal cord causing paralysis of her right side.  Eventually she started to gain some feeling on her right side and has been transferred to the Physical Rehabilitation Center.  Now she has a grueling rehabilitation schedule where she receives physical, occupational, and speech therapy daily.  She has continued to get better slowly day by day, with her unwavering faith and determination to return to normal mental and physical functioning.

Christina’s car was totaled in the accident, leaving her without a vehicle and transportation to and from work after her recovery.   Christina was offered and accepted a position with Cleveland Clinic just a couple of days prior to the accident that she is planning on after her recovery.  Unfortunately, insurance will not replace her vehicle and she will need money for a down payment on a replacement vehicle so she can start her career as a registered nurse doing what God intended, caring for others.

Christina is that person that will happily give up her time to help others.  She did this all through nursing school, without her help and support Krystal and I never would have made it to graduation.  When the accident happened, she was on her way to Vero (45 minutes North) to help me study for my second and final attempt on my exit exam that I needed to graduate school.

So, if your reading this please donate whatever you can to help raise the money needed for a down payment on a vehicle.  Christina has a long recovery to get her to 100% and not having to worry about a vehicle and transportation will let her focus stay where it needs to be, on getting better!

So please help with whatever you can, a lot of $5.00 donations can add up quickly to help Christina the way she is always so willing to help other.
