Tommy Stakes Memorial Fund

Our sweet cousin Homer T. Stakes (Tommy) passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. No one is ever prepared to lose a loved one. Four days after celebrating his 60th Birthday on March 24th, Tommy suffered a massive stroke and had to have brain surgery. After surgery he was placed on life support and never regained consciousness. For a week family and friends gathered to his bedside to say their goodbyes. Many prayed over him, whispered sweet words of love and gratitude, gave him messages to pass on to our loved ones in Heaven, and held his hands in disbelief. Tommy leaves behind his loving wife Maria of 27 years, two beautiful daughters Chelsea and Sarah, and his brother Eddie Stakes. Losing a husband, father, and brother is a devastating loss and our hearts go out to all of Tommy ' s family and friends. Tommy was a kind and gentle soul. He was a loving husband and an amazing father. He will be dearly missed by so many. He gave the greatest hugs and was just a big old teddy bear!
We are desperately trying raise money for Tommy s funeral expenses and to help his family out financially. Any amount of donations will be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately not everyone has the luxury of a life insurance policy. In honoring our cousin Tommy, we want to help his family and give them the peace of mind they so deserve.
