RMWK Lake Arthur Hurricane Relief Effort

Donation protected

On August, 27, 2020, Hurricane Laura devastated the Louisiana and Texas Gulf coast with historical wind speeds. Destruction and loss laid in her wake.

One of our fellow kiltied brothers, Damian Broussard lives in the region ravaged by the storm.

He and his parents share the farm and work the land growing hay and livestock including horses and goats.

Unfortunately, the small barn that they use to house newborn goats was destroyed by the winds and a tree landing on the roof. This barn area is the nursery and used to house newborns and goats that are sick or injured.

Couple that Damian’s father, who farms and cares for these animals was recently hospitalized for a month with congestive heart failure and kidney failure and remains very ill at home with home health. He is unable to repair the damage to the farm and Damian is a bit over his head with all the repairs that need to take place.

I am putting a call out to our “Real Men Wear Kilts” brotherhood and asking for help.

We need physical help by able bodied men & women willing to come down and help rebuild the barn and perform what ever other repairs that we can do

We are also seeking financial help to fund this effort with so that we can focus on getting in there and getting this job done and bless this family letting them know that Real Men Wear Kilts is here to help them rebuild.

The plan is to head down to Lake Arthur on September 18th and stay through the 20th.

In addition to helping rebuild the barn, I would like to see us also bless the Lake Arthur area and possibly bring some extra food, bottled water and anything else that you can think of that these displaced families can use.
