<div>We are RMUK Wellbeing, I'm Sistah Stella again, asking for just a little help. I am seeing too many people having difficulties accessing nutritious food, and the cost-of-living crisis has made this worse. At the same time, our hardworking volunteers are reaching out and supporting people who are feeling the impact of increased costs.

<div>We provide culturally relevant food and well-being support to struggling households and individuals in Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and now Greenwich!!!

<div>Because we care, our volunteers organise fresh and nutritious and surplus food redistribution and doorstep befriending services; reducing food injustice while supporting households to overcome wider disadvantages including worklessness, struggling with rising fuel/energy prices, social and digital isolation, No Recourse to Public Funds, housing insecurity, suffering with (or at risk of) poor physical health or mental wellbeing.

<div>Our crisis support work focuses on providing culturally appropriate and nutrition-rich free hot meals and low-cost pantry/community supermarket items. This work is often complemented with information, advice and guidance (IAG) and signposting to support services.

<div>We engage at the earliest possible stage of food and well-being crisis using culturally appropriate work ethics that is rooted in Dignity and Trust, as people can often turn away from support early on if made to feel undignified or outcast. Our work connects beneficiaries to peer groups and support services to understand and meet wider needs in the short to mid-term and longer term.

<div><strong>We have had such an increase in people asking for help since January 2023 that we are reaching capacity!</strong> We need donations so that we can buy cultural foods for our families to be able to eat with dignity. Imagine offering a cat Bubblegum to eat!!! That's what it feels like when you go to a food bank, already feeling like your dignity has been eroded and then having to just take what you are given to eat and feed your family.

<div>We want to ensure that we have reliable transport to make our weekly deliveries, sometimes our volunteer drivers are not available, tyres get ripped, children get colds and traffic just does not allow them to arrive at the hub. So we want to purchase our own electrical vehicle to ease the pressure, cut down the carbon footprint and allow our volunteers to continue to care but without any added stress. .
