RM 220 Ratepayers Association Legal

Donation protected
The RM of McKillop 220 Council and Administrator have blown through not only the entire budget for the 2018 year but the 2 million dollar reserve fund they had 2 years ago.

On August 10th, 2018 the usual bloc vote on RM Council supported motions to increase the 2018 tax levy  collected 176%  in the RM of McKillop 220. The RPA needs your help to stop this - whatever it is (mismanagement, fraud, breach of trust, theft, municipal corruption).

We need volunteers to assist with: the preparation of several complaints to the RCMP, legal services, filling out forms to apply to the Queen’s Bench to quash RM tax resolutions, organizing a letter writing campaign to politicians, media consulting, expertise with accounting, CRA/GST knowledge, local government bankruptcy knowledge, and volunteers to collect various RM documents (which requires effort akin to pulling teeth out of a Tasmanian devil).

If you can’t volunteer but would like to donate to the costs of our efforts to hold this RM Council, Administrator and lawyer accountable please make a donation.

Thank you.

The RM 220 Ratepayers Association is a citizen's group dedicated to ensuring fair taxes, minimizing waste, reducing spending and holding the RM of McKillop No. 220 Council accountable.

After collecting over 400 ratepayer signatures (we only required 244 signatures) to conduct financial and management audits of the RM Council and Administrator, Reeve Howard Arndt wrote to a local newspaper and called the ratepayers who participated in the petitions 'minions'!!

This is a rather dim view to take of over 400 ratepayers who contribute a fairly hefty sum to the RM's coffers and displays a certain amount of contempt for the idea of accountability in government.

The RM Administrator deemed the petitions for both the financial and management audit insufficient and threw them out. We have now obtained evidence that she did not do her duty as per The Municipalities Act.

Volunteers with the Ratepayers Association have personally spent close to $2,000 on legal fees to protect everyone's consitutional right to petition our publicly elected officials and clean up our Rural Municipality. Join these volunteers by donating to our legal costs today so that we can continue to try and hold the RM of McKillop Council accountable until the next required municipal election in October 2018.

Donations can be made by cash or cheque (please contact us at [email redacted]) or this online website.

Thanks for reading this. We are grateful for all the support of our volunteers.

Coming Soon - An RM 220 RPA website with more information on how the RM is spending ratepayer's tax dollars.

Any unused funds will be refunded.
