Welcome to a Month for Mental Health team's page. Alongside my original fundraiser, I have created this Go Fund Me for my friends and family to join me and do their own fundraising with each individuals total contributing to the overall amount raised for the Samaritans.
Story behind A Month for Mental Health:
From the 1st to the 31st of August 2021, I will be attempting to complete a marathon and an ironman 70.3 while covering over 100 miles in just one month.
Recently I found out that someone I was rather close to took their own life just before Christmas. We lose many people to suicide every year and the figures have been increasing. The amount of pressure we are all under at this time is huge, and for many, can become unbearable.
This is the reason I have decided to raise money in aid of Samaritans, due to the fantastic work they do. The Samaritans do their work with the vision that fewer people die by suicide. Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK or Ireland dies by suicide, and every six seconds, somebody contacts Samaritans for help.
Every donation will help and thank you in advance for your contribution. I hope this campaign will help to bring awareness to issues such as suicide.
