I would like to briefly share our families story in hopes of receiving any help we can get. On Wednesday July 12th we received the devasting news that my father has Stage 4 cancer in his pancreas kidney and liver. Due to fluid the doctor has told us they cant perform the surgery to remove it as intended because that fluid can have cancer cells that will spread like wildfire. My dad has been given 6months and want to set him up on hospice....a daignosis that we simply wont accept.
Growing up my father lived in a house with his 3 brothers and my grandma who raised them all for the most part on her own. My dad was an amazing athlete which led him to amazing things, records that are still held and later being inducted into the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame. He had many accomplishments in the business world where he was able to branch off and own his own real estate company which he did for over 30 years working along side my mother.
My dad has taught me so many amazing things in life how to work hard, be ethical, have good morals and just overall be a decent human being even when others stoop to lower levels. Hes been the most amazing provider, husband, father, and grandfather (G-Pa) when he was never shown or given that example growing up. My parents have been married for 43years and have shown me so many things when it comes to life love and what it really takes to make a marriage strong.
My father had a heart attack and 5 way bypass in my freshman year of high school and was told he would be lucky to survive for 10years. Well hes exceeded that prediction and will exceed what the doctors are telling him now. He has to many things to live for on this earth and we are going to fight like hell and get more opinions until we find a doctor that is willing to fight this fight with us.
