Ben's Medical Fund

Ben has always been an energetic and caring person. Whether he’s telling a joke to make others laugh, cooking for his friends and family, or tending to patients as a nurse at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Ben continually brings a smile to other’s faces. However, in October 2014, at the young age of 24, Ben was unexpectedly diagnosed with a brain tumor which was later discovered to be stage 4. The tumor has caused him to have difficulties with his speech and right sided weakness, making it difficult for him to walk and use his right arm. He has undergone surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy but has been unable to return to work. As he continues to fight his battle with cancer, Ben has been exploring various treatment options in addition to the conventional treatment methods. He began using hyperbaric oxygen therapy, IV therapy and various essential oils, which all have helped improve his condition, but there is still a long way to go. His most recent MRI showed some growth in his tumor which has led to more difficulties in his already present speech and mobility issues.  He continues to utilitze every treatment option available to him in order to battle this aggressive tumor. Unfortunately, many of these treatments are very expensive and are not covered under his healthcare. His family and friends are hoping to raise money to help cover the costs of these expensive medical treatments and help Ben continue to fight the good fight. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
