The Fusfoo staff saw a segment on The Rachel Maddow show about the water problem in Flint, MI and The Mission of Hope was featured as an organization that is helping to distribute clean water to those in need. We were very moved by this story and reached out to the Mission to figure out how we can help. We have created this fundraiser to help the people of the Mission of Hope provide Flint residents with better resources to clean water. Please see more information below.
The governor of Michigan has declared a state of emergency in Flint, MI over problems with lead in the city's drinking water. Tap water is not safe to drink and bottled water is running very low.
The Mission of Hope Shelter and Pastor Bobby Jackson in Flint have been providing cases of bottled water to those in dire need, but they have run out of resources. The city and state are not offering any aid and the local residents of Flint need your help to access clean drinking water.
We have been in touch with Pastor Bobby and Dean, a volunteer at the Mission. They have been receiving shipments of water and are currently figuring out how and where to store the donated items. They have a small staff of about 5 and they have been overwhelmed and overjoyed with the outpouring of donations from people around the country. The money raised here will be used to buy more water, store it and distribute it to those in need.
