Ginger H. Adcock's Medical Funds

Hey Everyone!

My name is Bre Morris, and this page is for my aunt, Ginger Helena Adcock. My grandparents have been foster parents for about 45 years, and Ginger was one of these children that we were fortunate enough to keep in our lives and in our family. My grandparents have loved Ginger from the moment she was placed into their arms, and God has given us a special gift inside Ginger. Ginger was born with no arteries that would pump blood away from her heart to the many areas of her body. Her body, instead, formed small veins that pump blood away from her heart. From this complication, Ginger is not able to do typical daily functions. She is provided oxygen through an oxygen tank, and has to be very careful about the physical activities she tries to accomplish. As Ginger gets older, these health complications become more severe, and the possiblilty of a heart and lung transplant may soon be in the future.
This past week, though, has been a very trying week for our family. Helena was taken to Mobile Infirmary on Sunday, July 30th because she was coughing up blood. The doctors at this hospital then decided it was best to send her by ambulance to the University of Alabama at Birmingham to have the cardaic unit take care of Ginger. Ginger and my family spent four days at UAB in order to get her the help she required. The doctors concluded that the blood was flowing into her left lung, but with Ginger's health conditions they were not able to complete other tests, because it would risk her life even further. They were able to give her a blood clotting medicine to stop the bleeding for now.
I am here today to ask for any help you are able to give my grandparents and Ginger's husband, Patrick. These three amazing people have given everything they have for Ginger, but the insurance company is not. We already know that the ambulance ride from Mobile to Birmingham will not be covered by insurance, and a great portion of Ginger's hospital stay will not be covered as well. Patrick had to also take time from work to be by Ginger's side as they weighed their choices on her treatments. Again, thank you for your support and prayers for my family during this difficult time.
