Phoebe's Volunteer Nursing Trip

Hello family, friends, educators and caring strangers!
As you may know, I am a Registered Nurse furthering my nursing education at URI. I have been given the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic in January to volunteer my nursing assessment and treatment skills to an underserved, rural population in dire need.
Many areas of the Dominican Republic rely on volunteer health care workers and donated supplies to supplement the public healthcare they recieve as citizens. Most of the country's patients have to pay for every aspect of their care including the gloves, clean bandages and clean needles.
I will be traveling with a group of over 30 Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, educators and translators in January for two weeks. Every day we will trek to makeshift healthcare centers, with our own supplies to treat patients of all ages. Some will be very ill and require antibiotics and wound care, some may have a bad cold and some may be otherwise healthy individuals in need of routine care and teaching. As a group of providers, we can only be as effective as the supplies we bring. We are relying on donations.
My own passion is womens' health, so I will be working with a team to provide care to pregnant women, infants and anyone in need of reproductive health care. I am aiming to bring large amounts of prenatal vitamins, which can seriously help prevent birth defects.
As I am still a part-time student, I cannot afford to do this with my income alone. On top of covering my own travel and accomodations, I also need to bring ample medical supplies. Luckily, through my job, I can access all sorts of essential items in large quantities. However, I still need your help.
