Rivkah’s journey with Leukemia

Our daughter Rivkah has been diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. At first the news came like a punch to the stomach, but there is a bright side, it’s not a death sentence. The type of leukemia she has is one of the most common types, and it’s treatable with over a 90% success rate. Over the next two years she will be treated with chemotherapy, and the doctor is very confident that she will make a full recovery. Even though the doctors are confident that the treatment will be successful, it’s going to be hard on her, and she’s not quite three years old yet. It’s going to be hard for our entire family, so we would appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts for our small family and especially for Rivkah Avigayil bat Ahavah. Feel free to add her to any prayer lists you feel appropriate, and I’d like to ask you to give something to charity in her name, even if it’s just a dollar. HaShem has given the doctors the knowledge to know what’s wrong and how to treat it, so we are already part of the way there. Unfortunately, the chemo will have the same side effects for her that it does for everyone else, nausea, vomiting, hair falling out, etc. This is an incredibly difficult road ahead of us, especially for Rivkah, but we caught it early enough to beat it and we know that the Great Doctor is ultimately the One treating her.
