Riverwalk Theater Customer Donations

I have always believed movie theaters to be a very important part of a community, haven’t you?

Throughout our history, it’s been the go-to gathering space for family and friends; a place to be entertained and relieve the pressure of the outside world, if only for a couple of hours; a venue where you can congregate and connect with the strangers sitting beside you, laughing and crying at the same wonderful moments on the screen.

So in April of 2018, when my wife Katherine and I became the new owners of Riverwalk Theater in Edwards, this was an exciting new chapter for us.

We wanted to make the Riverwalk Theater even more community-focused and give our customers ownership in the space.

We would continue to show the usual blockbuster superhero movies, but we would also show local documentaries and more diversified content to mirror our local demand.

We would create a place of community where friends and family alike would gather and connect - over a coffee or beer as well, not merely popcorn and a movie.

So over the past two and half years, we’ve taken steps to make that dream come to life - and I think you would agree, our Riverwalk Theater is truly turning into more than a just theater.

We’ve become a hub for Eagle County locals to feel welcomed, be entertained, come together, and celebrate life.

The process has been a lot of fun for us, and I believe, YOU as well, Riverwalk Fam. And gives me hope for the future.

And yet truth be told, the future of our business is very uncertain.

Due to factors far outside of our control, the short term prospects look very dim through this winter. I view this pressure we face as an opportunity to ask ourselves the tough questions and make sure we are pointed in a direction that still allows us to achieve new long term goals:

We want to continue to operate a family and community-oriented movie theater for years to come.

We want to continue to provide you with a space to come together and celebrate with your family, friends and other locals.

We want to persist through this pandemic as a symbol of Eagle County community’s resilience during times of hardship.

But in order to do that, we need your help.

After a great deal of consideration and driven from an overwhelming amount of requests, we are opening up a GoFundMe campaign for the Riverwalk Theater to help us stabilize our business for the short term so we can continue to pursue our long term goals.

This campaign will use funds to pay fixed operating expenses, salaries and wages as an effort to be able to weather the uncertain times ahead.

Please know that our intention is to continue evolving in a way that enables our customers to patronage our business.

We will remain open and continue to serve you as best we can and however we can, into this unforeseeable future. Please continue to support our business by visiting us and allowing us to serve you.

However, we would truly appreciate any monetary aid you can give in the meantime, as well.

Please support us by making a donation through the GoFundMe Campaign or by stopping by the theater to make a donation.

We want to persist and continue serving our local community for years to come. And together, we can. Thank you.
