Riverview Estates Rebuilding Fund

On Friday August 2, 2019  the residents of Riverview Condos at 9930-100th ave Fort Saskatchewan Alberta were told they had 30 minutes to grab the necessities and evacuate their  building as it was structurally unsafe.  13 months later the building still sits empty.  The cost to repair it is approximately 4 million dollars and insurance will only cover 1.5 million.  What is heartbreaking is that the owners have continued to pay for their mortgages, taxes and condo fees and, in many cases, they have also been paying rent to live somewhere else.  A neighbouring building is unscathed and occupied but as part of the same condominium association they are also responsible for the cost of repairs.   Even with 87 units the special levy will be approximately $30,000.00 per unit.  This financial burden will ruin the dreams and finances of most the owners.   Our goal is to raise funds to help with the cost of rebuilding and reduce the financial burden. This catastrophe could have happened to any of us and the residents have done nothing wrong.  They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Any amount is greatly appreciated.  You can make a difference
