Risk from Homelessness ($6k REACHED)

Donation protected
Hello, everybody.

My name is Shannon Evans. I am a 20-year-old woman who is still living with my parents and I go to college at Montclair State University as an animation/illustration in New Jersey. I created this fundraiser to help spread the word of my family needing as much money as we can to help pay our house rent, car bills, electric bills, and so many other expensive bills that we were required to pay. While my parents do not support the idea of setting up a fundraiser to help our financial problems, I feel that we should for emergency purposes. As much as I hate asking for money for our financial problems, this has been a serious issue my parents have been facing due to lack of respectful and polite communication over how much money these guys have to pay our bills. Ever since the end of last year 2019 and the start of 2020 of this messy pandemic, our bill/rent situation has been very bad and will get worse. As you can see in the photo, my family is at a high risk of getting evicted out of our house by December 31st, 2020 since they were unable to pay their rent that's up to $6000+. We live in a house in Newark, New Jersey that we've been living in since the mid-2000s (probably 2006 if I remember correctly).

My mom works in 2 jobs as a medical assistant at a hospital where she doesn't get paid much money and she also works at a daycare to receive money from a teacher she's friends with who help pays her. My dad as of now has been jobless since he lost his job as an Uber driver last year (he got suspended due to 3 car accidents he had) and he lost his job at Amazon. My dad used to work in New York at a hospital (I forgot what his job position was) but due to his limitations of working there and how far and tiring it is for him to travel from New Jersy to New York, he felt the need to quit that job and switch to being an Uber driver, I think in 2014. My parents have been arguing and been less communicative back and forth over how much money they have to pay the bills and have a bunch of agreements and disagreements over who should pay what bills or what jobs they should work in. As of now, my dad is currently back in college to get a job for medical coding but he hasn't taken things nor himself seriously to find a job while he's at college and making up excuses not to make money, while my mom on the other hand, is still working in 2 jobs but her payment is not enough to help pay bills/rent. The bills/rent situation that my family has been dealing with for so many years has been a mess but this current pandemic has made our situation much worse.

Since my parents haven't paid their bill of $6000+ of their house rent in months, we are already at a very high risk of getting evicted and our landlord still expects us to pay bills during this COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline for this fundraiser is December 31st, 2020 and whatever amount of money you can help pay me for my family is very appreciated, even if it's just $1. I'm not expecting everybody I know or don't know to have more than $100 during this year's pandemic so however much you can pay for me will always be appreciated regardless.

Even if this fundraiser couldn't reach the goal of $6000, it would still be a good opportunity for us to find a new house to live in rather than living in a homeless shelter. I personally will hate living in a homeless shelter since we have so much stuff in our house that cannot be moved to homeless shelters or will get left behind. I would not like to live in a homeless shelter near homeless people who are likely exposed to COVID-19. I worry for my parents especially since they're almost in their 60s and I worry for my younger brother who's born being severely autistic. If we were forced to live in a homeless shelter after getting evicted in December 31st, 2020, I fear my parents and my brother will also be at a high risk of getting covid.

Therefore, this is why I created this fundraiser. I created this fundraiser to help my parents pay for their bills/rent before the end of 2020 and our risk of eviction, and as said, any amount of money you can help pay not just for me, but also to my family is very appreciated whether it's $1 or more than $100!
