ARTISTS ARE THE GATEKEEPERS OF TRUTH
Years ago, I was witness to blatant and repulsive bigotry against my best friend and his parents. When his parents fell in love, his mother happened to be his father’s adopted sister. The two were immediately pigeon-holed as “freaks” and “weirdos” that has lasted to this very day. This blatant prejudice spilled over to me as I was also labeled a “freak” just for being associated with him.
His parents were not blood related, yet were ruthlessly scorned and mocked by society. This ugly face of discrimination has the ability to destroy families, ruin careers, and stamp out free will of the human spirit everywhere. This experience lead me to my belief that if two people are adults and are not hurting anyone, then who are we to judge?
After all, none of us control who we fall in love with.
This project is a vehicle that will bring awareness to this subject and get people talking. Artists are the gatekeepers of truth, and this project will showcase truth in a honest and open fashion. It will be a testament to all who have suffered the crippling consequences of short sightedness and bigotry.
We want this to bring awareness to the subject and get people talking. Artists are the gatekeepers of truth, and this project will showcase that truth in an HONEST and open fashion. It will be a testament to all who have suffered the crippling consequences of short sightedness and bigotry.
Given the current climate of intolerance, the timing of this project is clear.
WHO BENEFITS?
All who have suffered the judgmental injustices of bigotry and intolerance. Those who live in fear to tell the world who they love and why.
And as we all know, when we are in love, we want the world to know how wonderful it is to have finally met “the one”. This film gives you a voice of compassion and empathy.
LODGING
This raise is to house and lodge our small cast and crew for three nights. As you can see by the property’s listing , we need $1,393 (USD) ASAP to hold/reserve the property. (The balance of $1,813 is due by the end of August.) We do receive a $600 damage deposit back, which will be credited back to you after filming wraps. Please see below.
