Rising from Ashes for Heather
Imagine your nightmares came true. You are standing on the curb in your ratty slippers, having just escaped your burning home with your children and cat and nothing else. You had eye surgery hours before, cancer treatment last week, and now you have no place to live.
Heather and her children have been living at a friends' home as she struggled to keep life as normal as she can for them with stage 4 breast cancer. Now even that has gone up in smoke; they lost everything in the fire. She is now in need of clothes, shoes, and other basic necessities for the kids and herself. The kids need school supplies, which in today's world also means laptops or tablets for a 12 year old girl, 10 year old boy and 6 year old girl. It's unclear at this time whether her 15 year old Chevy SUV is operable due to its proximity to the house and fire.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to help Heather and her children purchase essential items as they search for a new place to live, go back to school, and find some sense of normalcy again.
A personal note from Heather's family and friends: Heather is the most generous individual you could know, donating her hairdresser skills to help others look and feel their best when they are at their lowest point. She works so hard to help others, and now we're hoping some of that karma can come back to lift her up.
