Elevate Youth Productions is a dedicated team of Radio and Television Arts (RTA) students from Ryerson University, and this Fall we will be producing RISE Sports Toronto. Beginning with the four-part docu-series, RISE Sports Toronto will tell stories surrounding youth, and will focus on how they have dealt with and overcome any number of challenges. Each episode will also encapsulate the four letters of RISE: Resilience, Inclusion, Strength, Experience, and the overarching theme of hope. Our goal is to share these compelling stories with individuals within the sports and education industry, as well as the greater society, to bring awareness to the positive impact sport can have on a young person’s journey. Also, at the same time, to demonstrate that there is a place for everyone in sport.
"A social movement empowering youth through sport"
The RISE Sports Toronto Youth Event
In order to make a direct impact on Toronto’s youth, the RISE Sports Toronto movement will conclude with a youth-focused event occurring on November 28th at Daniels Spectrum. The production will be upbeat and empowering for youth and will serve as a screening event for our docu-series. More importantly, it will feature guests from the sports industry, including elite level athletes and media professionals, who will share their own personal challenges and how sport has impacted their lives. At the event, there will be entertainment, music and interactive activations led by a variety of community sports stakeholders, in order to introduce the students in attendance to sport community initiatives and services they can access for support.
The event will also include a ticketed viewing area dedicated for adults, that will include hors-d'oeuvres and cocktails, as well as a silent auction.
All proceeds from the event will be dedicated to Skylark Children, Youth & Families. The Toronto based organization is a leading community-based charity dedicated to assisting children, young people and their families struggling with complex mental health and developmental needs to realize their full potential by offering services that build their social, emotional and developmental capacity. There first point of access is through our walk-in clinics where immediate, hassle-free, no-cost access to mental health services are available to children and young people aged 0-26 years and their families.
By supporting this event you will help Skylark fight mental illness, a common issue today’s youth face.
This GoFundMe page is set up for those who can't attend our event, but still wish to support RISE Toronto. No donation is too big or too small, every amount counts. We appreciate all of your support!
