Rise of the House of Snow

Donation protected
Rise of the House of Snow tells the story of some of the fiercest Black artists and entertainers in the South. The House of Snow is one of the oldest surviving Black drag houses in the State of Virginia. And while stories have been told about Black drag houses in the Ball culture of the North, Rise of the House of Snow reveals a gem in the capital of the Confederacy, where a group of Black female impersonators rose from local to national notoriety using beauty, talent, and brains. With your help, together we can share  the story of how the Legendary Earl "Christmas Snow" Fleming transformed from a make artist to singing live as a female impersonator,  the national pageant winning House Mother Victoria C. Snow,  and members of the House of Snow past and present take to the stage and claimed their status on stages across the country.

Funds from this campaign will be used to cover pre-production cost while we seek grant funding and producers who will help to raise additional funds because they recognize the value of elevating the incredible story of The House of Snow. Specifically, we will

-Hire professional camera, audio,  and lighting personnel. (What you see is footage shot from an android...lol...not an iPhone)

-Cover initial marketing and administrative costs

-Front end compensation for the storytellers

-Production cost for fundraising and private and public events

Thank you for any support you're willing to offer to this project. Please feel free to reach out to me if you are interested or know someone who is interested in offering connections or resources.
