Riley's wish

Today was supposed to be a day of celebration for my beautiful nephew Riley on his 14th birthday. Instead we got a call from my sister to say her house was burning down and could we please come over ASAP to help her and her beautiful boys.  The fire was well underway by the time we arrived and sadly they lost everything they own in that instant. We are focusing on how incredibly lucky they are to all get out relatively unscathed- with the exception of my nephew Riley who has a fairly big burn - which will most probably need an operation on his right leg. We are also so incredibly inspired by the power of humanity today at such an incredibly trying time. Neighbours came from everywhere offering clothing and food and kind words- it was heartwarming. The local fire brigade was incredible and so kind and supportive and we have so much to be grateful for. My sister is such a proud and inspiring mother. She will be very embarrassed to find I am asking for this support for them. She did not have insurance and now has nothing to her name. The children have lost everything including Christmas presents. She never asks for handouts and has always worked so hard to ensure that all of the boys needs are met- even though this often means going without herself. I would be so incredibly grateful for anything you can possibly offer in way of donation. Riley's only words as he lay screaming in pain today whilst waiting for the ambulance were "my mum works so hard for all the things in our house that are now burning- I wish Mum didn't have to see this". It would be so nice for him to know today that perhaps some of the small things can be replaced thanks to the generosity of strangers. There have already been some very powerful messages for us all today.  From the bottom of my heart I say thank you- even if it is just kind thoughts or a kind message you send through.
