Riley's Recovery Fund

Donation protected
My husband, Riley, has owned a tree service business for 14 years. On Wednesday, October 25th, Riley was working on a job in Dodge City, Kansas.  He was in a bucket lift trimming trees when his back came into contact with an 8,000 volt power line. This rendered him unconscious and on fire.  Fortunately, his brother was working with him and quickly ran to get the lift down and away from the power line.  He ran to grab the fire extinguisher and as he was returning, Riley was convulsing.  He then fell out of the lift from a height of approximately 10 feet and landed headfirst on concrete.  His brother put out the fire and had an ambulance on the way.  Once he got to the hospital, they determined that he needed to be air-lifted to an emergency burn unit in Wichita, KS at Via Christi St. Francis hospital.

The damage: Riley has suffered severe 2nd and 3rd degree burns to an estimated 40% of his body. He has sustained damage to several of his organs including lungs, kidneys, and heart, as well as swelling of the brain. The extent of damage is not fully known at this time. Surgeries to remove damaged skin is imperative. Multiple skin grafting procedures will also be necessary in the weeks to come.

Our estimated expenses are expected to go well over  $500,000.  All donations are appreciated in this time of need.  Thank you very much for your help and support.
