Thank you for taking the time to read about my superhero; Courage.  Courage will be two years old on May 16 and we are super excited!  Birthdays are important and we plan to share many more with Courage in the years to come!

I am trying to raise money for my son's future medical necessities and to assist with transportation via Uber or other rideshare services for his hospital and medical appointments for the next six months at a minimum.  I do not drive and rely on public transportation which is out of the question while he is going through chemotherapy.  I must protect my son's immune system at all cost.

My son Courage has weathered many obstacles in his short life.

The first hurdle, he was born with Down Syndrome.  He has succeeded in mastering that hurdle with ease.  Check!

His next obstacle at six months of age was being diagnosed with Atrioventricular Septal Defect.  He was born with two holes in his heart.  He underwent open heart surgery to repair it.  Another hurdle mastered. Check!

He's had other minor hiccups here and there but nothing as traumatic as what he is facing now.  Courage was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which is cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells.  At this time my son is undergoing chemotherapy treatments and will have to for the next six months at a minimum.
