We’re Right Hand Shade and we’re excited to share our Kickstarter campaign to record our upcoming album at Old Bear Studio! This campaign is raising funds in order to produce, record, mix, and master our second studio album.
The band had written new material, and we were looking for a creative space to develop the songs. We connected with Chris Hoisington & Old Bear Studio. Chris is one of the founders of Old Bear and is a member of the award-winning and Billboard-charting act The Brothers McClurg. He and Old Bear have facilitated production on dozens of projects in the Christian music industry.
We’ve already recorded the songs for the album at Old Bear Studio and we’re so excited for you to hear them. As you might imagine, the costs of recording at the professional level add up quickly.
While we are amazed at the opportunity to work with such world-class talent, we also recognize that we have some real challenges to overcome. We had the album fully funded with 2020 bookings but lost them due to the pandemic. We had booked a summer tour including main stage appearances at festivals like River Rock, Connect Festival, and SoulFest, appearances at our favorite summer camps, opening slots for major national touring acts, and concerts at many venues across New England. As one after another venue canceled all summer events, we watched the recording funds that we were counting on disappear.
We held a Drive-In Concert fundraiser in June of 2020, one of the first of its kind to offset some of the loss of funds. We’re so grateful for our fans who came out to support us for that event, but we still need your help!
We know that right now is a challenging time for so many people, so it is a delicate thing to ask for financial support. But we ALSO know that we serve a God who is FAITHFUL, who ALWAYS keeps His promises, and we do not believe that He has opened the door and inspired these songs only to leave us without the means to bring them to those who need to hear them. We believe that God is going to supernaturally provide for us to make this album a reality, so that He gets all the glory.
