Rigdon Family Adoption

Tara and Nathan have been fairly open with their infertility struggles throughout the years. Over the last 15 years, they have seen 7 doctors, travelled hundreds of miles, and spent thousands of dollars on the hopes of having a child. During the last set of visits and fertility treatments, they were given false hope only to have it fade as they were given the news that, short of a miracle, they would not be able to conceive.

Both of them have talked about and thought about adoption in the past, but with the false hope and promises of conception seeming so close, they wanted to pursue that first.  Now, adoption is at the forefront and they are ready and willing and able to meet this new challenge head on in order to have the family they always dreamed.

Family is super important to them both. Holidays, birthdays, and just because are reasons to celebrate with family. Friends are also a big deal. One thing they commonly say is "Friends are your chosen family." They friends often act more like siblings or their own children. Hosting game nights and retro movie nights is nothing out of the ordinary for them.

Nathan is the Office Coordinator for a United Way.  After a long career in technology, Nathan was ready for a change. He is in school pursuing a degree in Psychology.  He is active with several nonprofit organizations in the area.  He serves as board president for a non-emergency medical transport company, crisis line volunteer for an organization dealing with sexual assault, and chairman of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program for two counties. Nathan has a heart for people and a passion to give back.

Tara is an Instructional Technologist for a school district in Mississippi. Prior to this year, she served as a special education teacher for 16 years.  She also is an Adjunct Professor at a local university teaching American Sign Language.  Tara is also in school finishing up her Educational Doctorate degree in School Leadership.  Her career and education has all been in service to children.

They like to say that they have been "dating" for 20 years. They first met in 2000 and got married in 2004. They love to go on adventures and would love to be able to share these experiences with a child.51403192_1600814126762606_r.jpeg

The adoption process is very long and expensive.  Your prayers, thoughts, and monetary support would go a long way to help them provide a loving home to a baby. Please consider helping.51403192_1600814168400097_r.jpeg
