Two wheels for four paws...

I'm squeezing in to the Spandex to cycle the Ride London 100 mile event on Sunday and while I'm pedalling around the lanes of Essex I'm hoping to raise money in aid of THE SCRATCHING POST (RESCUE AND SHELTER APPEAL FOR CATS)....I volunteer on a regular basis as The Scratching Post, cleaning out litter trays, mopping, feeding and enjoying the attention of some furry friends. It's an amazing place, rescuing hundreds of cats, nursing many back to health and giving them the love and care they deserve before hopefully sending them on their forever homes. The shelter survives purely on donations and an army of volunteers but the sheer amount of cats coming through the door can be overwhelming and terribly sad....So while pedalling around Essex I'm hoping to help make the lives of a few needy felines a little bit more comfortable. Any help would be much appreciated so thanks in advance. But if you can't help, just please be nice to cats because they're great!

More information about THE SCRATCHING POST (RESCUE AND SHELTER APPEAL FOR CATS): The Scratching Post Cat Rescue Charity relieves the suffering of maltreated, abandoned and unwanted cats in need of care, operating in North London, Essex and Hertfordshire. It maintains a rescue cattery and a net-work of volunteer foster carers for the reception, care and treatment of these cats and, where appropriate, arranges the rehoming of them. It relies heavily on the work of volunteers, with only a minimum of paid staff at the cattery, and its only means of funding is via voluntary contributions.
