14 years ago, I skated Ridge for the first time, about a month ago, I skated it for the last. Since then this project has weighed heavily on my mind. I want to make a full length documentary about the impact Ridge has had on the lives of the people who've skated there. This project is very close to my heart. Ridge changed my life and I was welcomed into a giant family of misfits, outcasts, and beautiful souls. This family is known as the RIDGE ARMY!
"I don't think anything will ever impact my life the way Ridge did. This place was home to so many and shaped us into the people we are today. I'm grateful for the times I had there and the people I met. We really did have something amazing. " -Josh Young
"This was all of our second homes, I spent more time at Ridge skateboarding and hanging out than I think anywhere else in my life. It still hurts everyday knowing there will never be another place like this. It was a place you went and you never wanted to leave. It changed our lives forever. I will always be grateful for the years spent here. You can put storage units over our home but you can't take the storage of memories and love this place gave to me and an entire generation of kids." - Vaughn Volkman
100% of the proceeds will go towards the making of this film.
* All donators names will be added to the credits of the film.
Film Making is expensive.
Here's a breakdown of the basic cost.
1. Music Licensing.
(This can be be pricey and is where a large portion of the expenses will go.)
2. Equipment: Lavalier & Shotgun Microphones, Batteries, Camera Slider, Misc.
3. Tripod: Fluid Head Tripod
4. Storage: External Hard Drive
5. Lighting: Led lights, Stands & Bounce Board
6. 8mm and 16mm Film Processing
*If we exceed our goal, additional funding will go towards setting up a premiere in Baltimore, posters, t-shirts, and extra equipment.
Baltimore despite its troubles is a place of love and community. I am confident with that love, we can make something amazing happen.
