Did you ever watch a boy ride their bike to the park with their Dad? Well, James is that boy, and I'm his Dad.
James is 10 years old. He is also a high functioning autistic. I believe in James and James believes in himself so this summer we're riding our bikes 1,000 km from our home in Whitby, Ontario to Coney Island New York in support of kids like James.
Along the ride we will be asking for donations to support James' treatment centre in Oshawa Ontario - Grandview Kids and to help build an respite home on Fire Island in New York through EJ Autism. Funds donated to this GO Fund Me account will cover our travelling costs with any excesses being donated to the treatment centres at the end of the journey.
We think your donation is pretty important. Right now James is one of thousands of kids on waitlists for treatments at Grandview Kids. The kids they care for include children with cerebral palsy, degenerative disorders, and all manner of disabilities. Through places like Grandview and EJ Autism, these kids get a ray of hope and a lift when they can't lift themselves.
Today both Grandview and EJ Autism are trying to build new facilities to help out the ever-growing ranks of children in need of therapy, counselling, and treatments. We believe in their goals as much as we believe in James. With every dollar helping, we're asking that you show that you believe too.
