Hi ! I'm Carla and some may say I'm a little crazy or creative but never would I really be known as Carla the cyclist - until last summer.... when some carefully worded constructive feedback encouraged me to challenge myself to take back control of my health and well-being... and so started the story of this somewhat crazy cycle challenge. Crazy why ? because I am training in the most flat country in the world the Netherlands (not fact-checked) to cycle 109km around the beautiful Cape Peninsula in Cape Town on 9/03/2025.... with at least 8 hills in the race.
But this challenge though personal to me reminded me of a wonderful organisation that supports, encourages, uplifts and upskills women coming from even more challenging circumstances who are stepping into a restorative journey for themselves.
Thus I'm riding in support of The-Beautiful-Unseen (TBU) which is a social enterprise initiative founded in the Hague, The Netherlands that offers victims of human trafficking or coming out of prostitution skills training making and selling natural hand-crafted soaps.
