Ride For Their Lives London-Glasgow cycle

Hi, I am Toby and between the 24th October and the 31st of October I shall be cycling from London to Glasgow with the finishing destination being COP26, the international climate conference.

I shall be riding alongside roughly 40 healthcare providers from many other children's hospitals, as well as other patients, World Health Organisation leaders, and staff from the British Medical Journal. We will be delivering letters and reports to world leaders at COP26 once we arrive up in Glasgow to raise awareness of climate change in healthcare and the detrimental effect that it can have.

I am fundraising to cover the costs of equipment needed for the ride, with any extra money being donated to the Great Ormand Street Hospital for children's Charity, and their sustainability fund.

I have been a patient at Great Ormand Street Hospital (GOSH) since 2005, receiving many operations and years of specialist care over this period that I am extremely greatful for. I have been a member of the GOSH Young People's Forum (YPF) since 2019, and vice-chair for the past 14 months. At the YPF we act as the voice of children & young people for the hospital, with groups coming to us for our opinion on what can be done to better improve the care of all those at the hospital. We deal with the food menu, sustainability within the hospital, human resources and teaching, infrastucture and buildings, and anything else inbetween.
