Ride for Fiji

Donation protected

In December last year a landslide wiped out the recently renovated school and health centre on a remote island, Qamea, in the Fiji Islands. Dreketi village is still recovering from this natural disaster with the school still in the process of rebuilding. Students are currently in need of stationary and other necessary learning resources especially the pre school which has received no funding from the government and has had to rely on both the village and local Rotary Club to continue operating. As well as this, sporting equipment would be greatly appreciated by the children, who have limited options for play. Our goal is to raise $2500 to support Dreketi school and thus help to revive this struggling community.

A group of grade 11 students  in Launceston are partaking on a 100km ride from Devonport to Launceston to help raise money and awareness for Dreketi school.

This ride will commence on Saturday the 9th of September, all donations will go directly towards helping those in need with no administrative fees. Resources will be delivered through the Rotary Club of Taveuni ( a neighbouring island) and Friends of Taveuni.

Donations of any size will be greatly appreciated and used wisely to help Dreketi village as much as we can.

Vina'a Va'a Levu and thankyou for supporting this cause :)
