Caleb's Ride

on July 10th 2016 our second born Caleb was rushed to adelaide by RFDS from jamestown with undiagnosed seizures that was very worrying for our family.
On arrival to WCH we were diagnosed with Infantile spasms/west syndrome which scared the living shit out of me. It's a rare condition that if not treated early with harsh medications can cause irreversible brain damage and developmental delays. A quick Google search will scare you as much as it did us and give you an insight into the scary condition. To make things worse was being stuck 300km from home with an over energetic 3 year old and jumping motels from night to night due to lack of accomodation in the city.
After being through this ordeal and watching everything our little warrior has been through i only see it fit to try raise awareness and funds to assist in research and making people aware of the condition and to help raise funds to assist the Ronald McDonald house to provide accomodation to families living away from home with sick kids.
So in June 2018, myself and my 2 great mates Chappy and Ady will set off on an epic adventure. We will be followed by an amazing support crew. We will leave jamestown riding to birdsville QLD, across the French line to Alice Springs just in time to race the 2 day grueling tatts finke desert race from alice springs to finke and return! Upon completing the race we will set off on the 1400km journey home through the centre via oodnadatta. A total ride of 3120kms!
I would love to raise as much money possible and anyone who wants to ride with us is more than welcome and anyone who has any ideas to help us out please let us know. All money raised will be going towards childhood epilepsy/infantile spasms and the Ronald McDonald house Adelaide. A go fund me page will be set up to raise the funds.
