THE SITUATION
As we played our hand at freelancing down in South America for an indefinite period of time, Rico and I (Karen) were dealt some sour cards. While on the road for the month of January making videos and taking photos for various non-profit organizations in Colombia and Ecuador our laptop computer, cell phone and GoPro camera were stolen off of not one, but two separate buses. Beside material loss and attachments we place on such amenities, over a month's worth of irreplaceable footage vanished into thin air. This footage was of organizations who serve children in need, work towards equality and education for women and families unable to support themselves; additionally the powerful individuals who donate their time and energy into running such operations. All that aside, we kept our motivation to complete the project, continuing our tour for another two weeks storing ALL FOOTAGE ON SD CARDS. As you can assume, SD cards do not make photos and videos, computers are needed for the editing of all content. This is where our true problem lies. Our ability to help these organizations is dependent upon purchasing new gear so that we can finish the job we started.

OUR MISSION
For those of you who personally know us, Rico and I moved down to Colombia beginning of November without any real plans, just a desire to try something new and figure it out as we go. Once this opportunity for creative social work and travel came up, we jumped at the chance to make a difference. As life would have it, just as we were hitting our stride an opportunist of the lowest caliber literally cut off our wings. This has been one of the most humbling and beautiful experiences and for that reason alone we are grateful our losses were not more substantial. All this aside we are seeking donations to help purchase a new work computer, cell phone and GoPro camera so that we may find that stride once more. We subsequently will use a portion of these donations to revisit these locations so that we rightfully produce the videos and photos we promised.

NOW TO THE GOOD STUFF
Every donation helps... seriously and for your contributions we offer the following services.
1. Donation of $1 or more: personalized thank you note and update from us to you.
2. Donation of $20 or more: a high resolution photo sent to you via email either from our personal archives or off our blog.
3. Donation of $75 or more: Skype dinner date (on your time frame), we will grub down, chat it out and have a grip of laughs.
4. Donation of $100 or more: stack of 5 hand drawn postcards from Karen (they will be funky for sure).
