Hello,
We are the unionized Starbucks partners (employees) of San Jose & Ricky Drive in Jacksonville, Florida and this is our solidarity fund. This fund is organized to support our partners who have practiced concerted activity such as striking as well as helping out any partners who have been impacted by scheduling and hour cuts.
Our store voted to unionize May 10th and since then we have been working to get Starbucks to the bargaining table so we can negotiate our first contract and receive the benefits and resources we deserve as unionized workers.
We first struck on August 1st, 2022 over unfair labor practices (ULPs) committed in our store as well as in solidarity for all union partners who were denied our raises for a whole month. We struck again on November 17th 2022, or Starbucks’ infamous “Red Cup Day”. We cited continuous ULPs committed in our store and stood again in solidarity with our unionized partners across the country. As of December 22nd 2022, our partners are on strike for a third time, over hour changes without collective bargaining as well as standing in solidarity with partners whose unionized stores have been closed.
We will continue to update our solidarity fund with events and activities that we partake in. We appreciate any and all help, from sharing to donating. Our community is incredibly important to us, and the support and solidarity from community members is what keeps our hopes up.
